March 27, 2020
Another week of our new, albeit temporary, normal. We’ve adapted to life with Zoom calls and FaceTime, chatting with a neighbor from across the street and multi-tasking like never before. Shared experiences are what connects us. There is so much comfort in knowing we are truly in this together.
We wanted to take a moment to thank you, our community, for your support during this time. Whether it’s a Facebook live how-to, science ideas from Eco Apachi, a growing library of films, so many fun ideas from Camp Chi and JSC to keep our teens engaged and more, we LOVE seeing your faces, names, comments, reading your emails—all of it. Over this past week, we have created and are building on our new Channel J. Check it out if you haven’t already!
We might be apart, but we feel very much together. You inspire us and the work we do. So, please keep those emails coming. Tell us what you love, what you’d like to see more of or share a photo. Staying connected now is more important than ever before.
We also want to provide an update on building closures. All JCC Chicago locations will continue to be closed until further notice. JCC Chicago will reopen and resume programs when it’s determined safe to do so. All Chicago Public Schools are closed until Tuesday, April 21. J at School programming will resume when CPS schools reopen. Reopening and welcoming our community back in our spaces will be nothing short of amazing and we can’t wait!
Please continue to look for updates from JCC Chicago on our website, via email and social media.
